April and May School Visits

Diane goes into elementary schools and performs her poetry to inspire children.  Here are some of the schools Diane has reently visited:

•            Torrey Pines Elementary School
•            Fay Elementary School
•            St. Didacus Parish School
•            Normal Heights Elementary School

For lower grades, Diane performs her poetry in a theatrical style, and then works with students on rhyme, alliteration, and onomatopoeia.

For upper grades, after her poetry performance, she inspires students with her powerpoint presentation called "How to Cook a Book!"  which shows the writing process from the gathering of raw ideas to a finished printed book.
